an inconvenient truth to every filipino workplace

July 12th, 2006 by liyam

Envy - a feeling of grudging admiration and desire to have something that is possessed by another.

this is one of the so called cardinal sins in catholic tradition. Logical this is to know also that this iniquitous deed is a root that would cause theft, self-loathing or even death (should you still figure out why it is a sin?). in the philippines, the most action taken due to envy and selfishness is another filipino characteristic called "crab mentality". a metaphor that means "if I can’t have it, neither can you". Being envious to a fellow, he/she then tries to pull the person down. thus, there is no growth. i dont sound like ranting, do i?

friendster at hiwalayan

June 16th, 2006 by liyam

of christianity and gnosticism

May 28th, 2006 by liyam

many… indeed many, as much as more than 60% of world’s population would believe that gnostics are those who are against christianity or are misinformed. i’ve even found testing websites of knowing your belief whether you are gnostic, christian or atheist, a crappy one i should say but i answered it none the less. the result: im a gnostic but i am open to christian faith… what the fudge?! the owner of that site didnt know what he’s talking about. other people who label gnostics would even speak and make it look like you are an anti-christ or somewhat like that.  a friend spoke that way not knowing what my belief really is… this certain friend had no idea what’s inside my mind. even said i believe the story of the da vinci code and the gospel of judas. my 1st reaction; i really didn’t know if i had to be irritated or i’d laugh of what she spoke. to clarify things out… yes i’m a fan of dan brown but no, i dont believe everything inside that book. and yes… i’m a gnostic and i am a christian as well.

i’ve heard alot of accusations against me, that somehow describes me as a pagan, an anti-christ, being a member of a satanic cult. i’d laugh. these christians possessing a VERY ELEMENTARY knowledge think that they already know everything about God, life, and death. if i’d ask them a question, what does gnostic mean? i doubt they’d be able to answer that.  a couple of times i’ve heard from them that ghosts are demons… i’d ask a question: have you seen one? they’d answer no. i rest my case.

the beginning of christianity had no christian bible, christian/catholic churches never existed, and there were more than 30 gospels written in the new testament, including the gospel of mary magdalene, gospel of judas, gospel of thomas, gospel of philip, etc. note: all of these gospels including the gospels matthew, mark, luke and john which are in the bible were not written by these authors, themselves. and all of these were written after the author’s death.  christianity was an illegal religion, romans used to kill people if they were found out theyre christians. they’d torture them till death. so christians, before we try to
label others, think 1st how our religion came out to be. and how it was
centuries ago.

gnostics are people who have the mystic knowledge of the divine. advanced knowledge of christian faith. people who possess knowledge that just not learned from any book but also understood divinity from within. so why church leaders are against gnostics? simple, they will lose followers. gnostics, after gaining wisdom, would need no advice. neither they need no priests, nor church leaders. and since there will be no followers no tithes shall be given to them. leaders wont earn anything. thus they were bothered. still, im not saying that we dont need to learn these gospels for us to know things naturally. we still need that bridge to cross and enter the challenge to seek for greater truth.

The Greater key of Solomon the king

March 5th, 2006 by liyam

http://www.boudicca.de/solomon-e.htm - PDF download
http://www.sacred-texts.com/grim/kos/index.htm

This work of Solomon is divided into Two Books. In the first thou mayest see and know how to avoid errors in Experiments, Operations, and in the Spirits theirselves.  In the second thou art taught in what manner Magical Arts may be reduced to the proposed object and end.

It is for this reason that thou shouldst take great heed and care that this Key of Secrets fall not into the hands of the foolish, the stupid, and the ignorant. For he who is the possessor hereof, and who availeth himself hereof according to the ordinances

herein contained, will not only be able to reduce the Magical Arts herein unto their proposed end, but will, even if he findeth certain errors herein, be able to correct them.

Any Art or Operation of this kind will not be able to attain its end, unless the Master of the Art, or Exorcist, shall have this work completely in his power, that is to say, unless he thoroughly understand it, for without this he will never attain the effect of any operation.

For this reason I earnestly pray and conjure the person into whose hands this Key of Secrets may fall, neither to communicate it, nor to make any one a partaker in this knowledge, if he be not faithful, nor capable of keeping a secret, nor expert in the Arts. And I most humbly entreat the possessor of this, by the Ineffable Name of God in Four Letters, YOD, HE, VAU, HE, and by the Name ADONAI, and by all the other Most High and Holy Names of God, that he values this work as dearly as his own soul, and that he makes no foolish or ignorant man a partaker therein.

how to make the desktop icon background transparent

December 22nd, 2005 by liyam

How do I make the background of desktop icon text transparent?

Intended For

Windows XP
Windows 2000
Windows Me
Windows 98
Windows 95

If you’re using desktop wallpaper, you’ll still see a border around your icon captions the same color as your solid background.
Here’s how to remove that border so that the text looks like it’s written right on your wallpaper:

Windows XP

  • Open System Properties in Control Panel, choose the Advanced tab, and click Settings in the Performance section.
Turn on the Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop option, and click Ok.
  • You can also try MicroAngelo (v5.5 or later), which allows you to change the text color, configure custom icons, and change other aspects of Windows.
  • Another utility of this type is WindowFX.

Windows 2000

  • Obtain and install the Transparent utility.
  • You can also try the "On Display" feature of MicroAngelo for lots of extra features.

Windows 95, 98, Me

  • Obtain and install the Disappear utility (4 kb).  You’ll need VB40032.DLL (381 kb) if you don’t already have it.
  • You can also try the "On Display" feature of MicroAngelo for lots of extra features.

Note: in all versions of Windows, Microsoft provides no way to
change the color of the text under desktop icons, which can make it
very difficult to read in some circumstances.
In Windows XP, the text has a shadow underneath, but this only goes so
far.
To change the font, open Display Properties in Control Panel, choose
the Appearance tab (then click Advanced in Windows XP only), and choose Icon from the Item menu.

file wrapper…

December 15th, 2005 by liyam

hey hey hey what do we have here? i’ve been browsing sites and i found eLiTeWrap.

eLiTeWrap is an EXE wrapper, used to pack files into an archive executable that
can extract and execute them in specified ways when the packfile is run. For
example, you could create a setup program that would extract files to a
directory and execute programs or batch files to display help, copy files, etc.

oblation run…?

December 15th, 2005 by liyam

last updated: 12-22-05

TWO NAKED womeOblationn “invaded” the annual Oblation
Run of the UP Alpha Phi Omega fraternity at the University of the
Philippines in Quezon City on Thursday, stealing the show from 20 male
streakers in their annual “Ritual Dance of the Brave.”

The naked
women, who wore wigs and masks, gamely posed for the cameras in front
of the Oblation at Quezon Hall at the UP Diliman campus.

The women surfaced just moments after APO streakers left the hall about 11:45 a.m.

Carrying
posters with the message: “Equal Rights for Women,” the women emerged
from a car in the parking lot and ran toward the Oblation.

The women did not say anything, but stayed just long enough to pose for photographers before fleeing toward a waiting car.

para sa mga taong nawawala sa landas ng pag-ibig

December 7th, 2005 by liyam

Makita kang muli - Sugarfree

Bawat sandali ng aking buhay
pagmamahal mo ang aking taglay
san man mapadpad ng hanging hindi
magbabago ang aking pagtingin

pangako natin sa may kapal
na tayo lamang sa habang buhay
maghintay…

CHORUS
ipaglalaban ko ang ating pag-ibig
maghintay ka lamang, ako’y darating
pagka’t sa isang taong mahal mo ng buong puso
lahat ay gagawin.
makita kang muli…
makita kang muli…

puso’y nagdudurusa, nangungulila
iniisip ka pag nag-iisa
inaalala mga sandali
ng tayo ay magkapiling

ikaw ang gabay sa aking twina
ang aking ilaw sa gabing mapanglaw
tanging ikaw

(chorus)

makita kang muli…
